The focus of this block will be the city of New York. We’ve had several days to discuss historical landmarks, ethnicities, history, boroughs, etc. The students chose a topic of interest from ideas brainstormed in class (see below) for a classroom presentation at the end of the block. Students were encouraged to begin their research over the weekend to ensure their topic will hold their interest throughout the project.
