Pat Ledger Library

Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday (Days in School)
8:00 am - 3:15 pm

Library Visits:
Each class will be able to visit the library once a week. If your student's class is not one of the classes that I teach in a week,  I then schedule the other classes to come down for a fifteen minute visit in which the students can return and check out books.

Policies:

Students will be able to check out two books at a time. These books will be checked out for two weeks. If a student returns one book and not the second one, (even if it is late), the student can still check out an additional book for a total of two books.

Late Books:
When a student has a book that has not been turned in after its due date, the Library Staff will contact parents/guardians:

1st week after the book(s) are overdue: The Library Staff will print off an overdue notice and send home in the Monday Folders.

2nd week after the book(s) are overdue: The Library Staff will email the parents/guardians asking them to help the student to locate the book.

3rd week after the book(s) are overdue: The Library Staff will call the parents/guardians and ask them to help the child find the book.

If the book has still not been returned, the Librarian will mark the book as lost and contact the parent/guardians. The parents/guardians will be given the following three choices:

1. To pay the cost of the book - no additional fees

2. Find and purchase the book in replacement for the lost book.

3. Have the student do community service for the loss of the book. One hour of service equals $7 toward the worth of the book.

Permission to Read Young Adult (YA) Books

The AACS Library Staff desire to work with the parents to ensure that your students are reading books that are acceptable. There are Young Adult (YA) books in the library that many students would like to check out. Many of the YA books contain some mature themes. If you want to allow your student to have access to all of the YA novels, please click on the link, print it, fill it out, and bring it to the library.

All Novels Permission Slip

If you would allow your student to only read a certain novel, the library has a single novel permission form. If you would want your student to read a single YA novel, please click on the link, print it, fill it out, and bring the form to the library.
