Meet Ms. Laws

My happy place in the world is the ocean. Water is my element. I love to see students rise and conquer their fears academically and physically. I love quotes, to dance, to rap in lesson plans. Like the waves I am excited to move forward at Aurora Academy Charter School. I went to high school in Aurora at Hinkley High School. For undergraduate I attended Metro State University where I majored in Behavioral Science (emphasis Psychology) and I minored in Elementary Education. For Graduate school, I attended UNC at Lowry for an accelerated Elementary education program. I love teaching and for kids to have fun and I am no nonsense as well. Kids, beware, I don’t mind showing off my skills on the dance floor, rap battles on the basketball court, dodge ball, football and kickball. Over the summer, I got a cool cat named Tripp.

I truly like to be my authentic self and I also like to instill that mindset in each of my students.

Coffee, Indian food, spooky movies, teaching Oula dance fitness, traveling, karaoking, volunteering in my community and working out are some of my favorite things to do.
